Belts
Seidokan Karate, like most Japanese martial arts is a progressive sport.
Beginners who preserve will be asked to attend a formal grading
session in which they must demonstrate proficiency in Kata, Kumite,
Kobudo and the discipline gained in attending training. Simply
speaking the darker the colour of the belt, the higher the grade
(White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown and Black).
But be warned there are three brown belt grades and twelve black
(our club sports two 4th Dan Black belts as well as several 3rd's
and 2nd's
